NM Alliance of Boys & Girls Club Day
Wednesday, February 2nd, 2011

Club members were hand picked to represent our club at the NM State Legislative Session on Feb 2nd, 2011 where they got to meet the Governor Susana Martinez and Lt. Governor John Sanchez, as well as the Speaker of the House Ben Lujan. The day was proclaimed as the New Mexico Alliance of Boys & Girls Club Day statewide by Governor Martinez. Club members from several different clubs across the state met at the Roundhouse to meet with legislators and state agencies in order to foster a deeper understanding of the Boys & Girls Club mission and continue to develop partnerships statewide. They were even allowed directly on the floor during the session! Wow!

President Obama receives a commemorative plate made by our very own Daniella Martinez! Several other club members made plates that were given out at a congressional breakfast in Washington, D.C. on September 15th when Boys & Girls Clubs of America announced the 2010-11 National Youth of the Year, Mona Dixon. See several of the members and their plates here.

Congratulations to our 2010 New Mexico State

Go Golden Eagles!

Tamara was one of three recipients nationwide to receive this scholarship. Boys & Girls Clubs of America and Marquette University established the scholarship to honor those students who have chosen to Be The Difference in their community and, in turn, the world.

Enjoy this video of Tamara with Dwayne Wade on August 30th as he welcomed the inaugural class of the Marquette/Boys & Girls Clubs Youths of the Year scholarship program!
